DRIVEWAY PAVING • ROCKLAND, PRESCOTT-RUSSELL & OTTAWA

Asphalt Driveways, Built to Stay Flat.

New asphalt driveways, replacements and resurfacing across Rockland, Prescott-Russell and Ottawa. The base is built for the load and the drainage before the asphalt goes down, so the surface stays flat, sheds water and reads as part of the property.

A driveway is a road built for one address — base, grade and edge decided before the first tonne of asphalt arrives.

SCOPE OF WORK

What Driveway Paving Covers

New Driveways

Excavation, granular base, compaction and asphalt for new homes and first-time paving over gravel, laid out to the garage, the street and the walkways.

Replacement

Failed asphalt removed, the base corrected where it has moved, and a new surface built to hold through freeze and thaw.

Resurfacing

A new wearing course over a sound base when the structure is good and only the surface has worn.

Widenings & Extensions

Extra width for a third vehicle or a turnaround, matched to the existing approach and the municipal entrance rules.

Edges, Borders & Transitions

Interlock or concrete borders, aprons and clean transitions to walkways and lawn, built in the same visit.

Parking Areas

Small commercial lots, condominium visitor parking and church lots, staged so access stays open while the work moves through.

HOW IT IS BUILT
Structure

Base First

The granular base is placed and compacted to the depth the soil and the load call for. Clay, wet spots and old fill are corrected before anything is paved.

PROJECT FACTORS

What Shapes a Driveway That Lasts

The base decides the life of the asphalt. It is measured and corrected on site, not assumed from the old driveway.

Existing grades, the garage slab and the street approach set the finished elevation before the layout is marked.

Widenings and new entrances are laid out to the municipal entrance rules, so the approach passes without rework.

Timing follows the season and the plant schedule. Dates are set at the site walk and kept.

QUESTIONS

Questions About Driveway Paving

If the base is sound and only the surface has worn, resurfacing is the right call. If the asphalt has cracked in maps, sunk at the garage or heaved at the street, the base has moved and the driveway is rebuilt. The site walk settles which applies.

Foot traffic the same day; vehicles once the surface has cured, which PB confirms at handover for that week’s temperatures. Turning the wheels while parked is what marks a new surface, and the crew explains what to avoid in the first season.

Yes, once the gravel has been reshaped, topped up where it is thin and compacted to a proper base. Old gravel that has mixed with clay is replaced.
